Xsara Audio System Failure

Hi, I've got a 2002 Citroen Xsara with a gasoline engine, and the audio system has suddenly stopped working. There's absolutely no sound coming from any of the speakers. I've checked the fuses, and they all seem fine. I'm starting to suspect it might be a problem with the head unit itself, but has anyone else experienced something similar?

I had a similar issue with my Xsara a while back. The sound just cut out completely. Have you noticed any distortion or unusual sounds coming from the speakers before it died? Especially from the bass speaker?

No, I didn't notice any distortion or weird sounds at all. It was working perfectly fine one day, and then the next time I started the car, there was just silence. Could a defective bass speaker really cause the whole system to go silent?

In my case, a short in the bass speaker was the culprit. It somehow shut down the entire audio system. It's worth checking the speaker with a multimeter, but honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop with experience in car audio systems.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local shop, and you were right – a bad bass speaker was the problem. It cost me 280€ to get it replaced. Appreciate the help!
