Xsara check engine light jerking acceleration

My 2004 Citroen Xsara with a gasoline engine is giving me headaches. I get a check engine light and the car jerks like crazy when accelerating. I also hear whistling and loud hissing sounds then. Sometimes it even stalls at idle, and my fuel consumption has gone up. Power is way down too. I suspect the boost pressure sensor, maybe a bad cable or plug connection? Mileage is at 206415 km.

Sounds familiar. I had something similar with my Xsara. Check the intake manifold and the air intake around the turbo system. Are you getting any specific codes thrown by the check engine light?

Thanks! Where exactly is the boost sensor located near the turbo? Is it easy to check the cable and plug connection? The 'boost sensor' - is that also called 'turbo boost'?

Yeah, boost sensor, turbo boost sensor, same thing. I think it's best to just go to a workshop. I fiddled around for ages and got nowhere. In the end it was a defective plug, which cost me 95€ to get fixed.
