The engine seems fine, and the lights are behaving. What was wrong with yours? Was it a straightforward fix, or did they have to do something complex to the car's computer?

The symptoms you describe are very similar to mine. The garage diagnosed a faulty control unit. If you aren't familiar with vehicle software it will be difficult to fix on your own. I would advise you to visit your local garage.

Sounds like I'm heading for a similar problem. Just got the quote - about 240€ to reprogram the control unit. Ouch! But at least there's light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks!

I had a similar issue with my Xsara. Is the engine running rough, too? Any problems with the indicators or lights? It could be the ECU. These cars are getting old, and the software can be temperamental.
