Xsara mirror heating issue

Thanks for the tip! I'm not super handy with electrics, so how would I check the wires for continuity? Is it something I can do with basic tools, or do I need specialized equipment?

You'd need a multimeter to properly check for continuity. If you're not comfortable, it might be worth taking it to a workshop. I ended up doing that and they sorted it pretty quick. The heater element could also be broken. In my case it was a corroded plug.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on! It was a defective plug connection, and they fixed it for 95€. Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Xsara. Check the cable and plug connections to the mirrors themselves. They're exposed to weather, especially during winter, and corrosion can be a pain. Can you check the wires for continuity?
