Thanks for the reply! It's not running rough, thankfully. Just the light and what seems like worse fuel consumption. How did you test the sensor, and what were the symptoms like before you realized what was going on?

Okay, that's slightly different than mine then. Mine was undriveable! I didn't actually test the sensor myself, to be honest. After messing about with it for a bit, I ended up taking it to a workshop. They hooked it up to their diagnostics and confirmed it was the sensor. New sensor and labour cost me about 95€. Probably best to get it checked by a professional.

Thanks, I suspected that might be the best route. I was just hoping to avoid the cost, but I guess sometimes you just have to bite the bullet! I will take it to the garage. I appreciate the help!

I had a similar issue with my Xsara (petrol version, though). Drove me mad for weeks! Is it running rough at all, or just the light and fuel consumption? When mine went, it was completely gutless. Have you tried testing the sensor itself to rule out a faulty component before you start chasing wiring gremlins?
