Xsara Smartphone Connection Issue

I'm having trouble with my 2003 Citroen Xsara (gasoline engine). The system reports function restrictions; my smartphone won't connect, and there's an error stored. Could it be incorrect pairing?

Sounds familiar! I had the same issue with my old Opel Astra. Bluetooth was a nightmare. Is the car radio original or aftermarket? Maybe try a full reset?

The radio is the original factory unit. What specifically fixed the issue with your Opel Astra?

Ah, factory unit... Hmm. I never sorted it out myself, truth be told. Ended up trading it in. Seriously, get it hooked up to diagnostics. Could be a simple software glitch, could be worse. Worth a look at a workshop.

I had it examined; the issue was corrupted firmware and a component needing replacement. The repair was 45€.
