Xsara Tire Pressure ABS and Steering Problems

Xsara (2003 diesel) owner here. Seeing a persistent low tire pressure warning. ABS lamp lights up too. Could this be related? Steering wheel vibrates and takes more effort to turn. I've checked all tire pressures with a gauge, inflated tires, but the warning light returns. Air leak maybe? Suspect valve issue, given the age. Thoughts?

Could be a defective valve indeed. Is the low pressure warning on a specific tire, or is it generic? When the light comes on, does it coincide with the shaking steering wheel?

Good questions. It's a generic warning, not tied to a specific tire. And yes, the light seems to come on whenever the steering gets heavy and the shaking starts. Any thoughts what might cause this combination?

A generic warning, plus the other symptoms... it does sound like a valve, but maybe not just a valve. Given the power steering issue too, I'd advise getting it checked out by a workshop rather than just replacing the valve. They can run diagnostics.

Thanks, appreciate the advice. Took it to a workshop, as you suggested. Turns out it was a defective valve, but it had also damaged the TPMS sensor. The combined repair, including sensor replacement and new valve, cost 280€. All good now!
