Good shout! I haven't checked the connections right at the nozzles – figured they were just simple tubes. So, you reckon it's worth pulling the nozzles and cleaning up the contacts? Is it easy to get to them, or am I going to be taking half the car apart?

Well, easy is a relative term! But yeah, check them. If it's not that, honestly, I was pulling my hair out before I just caved and took it to a workshop. They diagnosed a faulty connection, probably the plug, and sorted it pretty quick. Cost about 95€, which I thought was reasonable to save me the hassle. Worth considering if you're banging your head against a wall.

Cheers for the advice! I'll give the nozzle connections a look this weekend, and if that doesn't fix it, I think I'll just bite the bullet and take it to a garage. 95€ sounds alright to be rid of it. Thanks again for your help!

Sounds familiar! I had a similar headache with my Xsara. Same symptoms, frozen nozzles in winter. Did you check the connection TO the nozzles themselves? They can get a bit corroded, causing a bad connection and preventing the heating element from working. If not, it will be the cable, as you suspect. It's a pain!
