Xterra electrical issues
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Nissan Xterra is experiencing sporadic electrical issues, including errors in driving mode, warning lights, and failures with audio/navigation systems. The problems are linked to communication errors in the CAN bus system, as indicated by OBD-II scanner codes. A defective BUS system cable connection is suspected and later confirmed as the cause. Repairing the cable connection resolves the issues.

Thanks for the quick response! I'm getting several codes, mostly related to the CAN bus and some communication errors with different modules. Did those codes match what you experienced?

Yep, those codes ring a bell. Sounds like you're on the right track with the BUS system cable connection. I messed with it for weeks and got nowhere. I'd suggest getting it checked by a professional. It could save you a LOT of headaches.

Appreciate the insight! Took it to the shop, and the cable connection of the control unit was indeed defective. X€155 later, all is well. Thanks again for confirming my suspicions!

Dude, that sounds eerily familiar! I've got an Xterra too, and I had similar electrical gremlins a while back. Intermittent glitches and system failures... drove me nuts! What kind of error codes are you pulling?
