Xterra O2 sensor issue

Wiring looks okay visually. But could a dodgy connection really cause all that? Error code, light, the mileage drop?

Yep, happened to me. I messed with it for ages, cleaning connectors, checking for shorts. Eventually, I just took it to the shop. Exhaust system was fine. Turned out it was indeed the sensor, including the catalytic converter. They replaced the sensor, the connection, and that fixed everything.

Thanks, man. Appreciate the confirmation. I'll take it in. Mechanic confirmed it. Quoted 95€ for the repair.

Dude, I had the exact same thing happen on my Xterra! Same symptoms. Have you checked the wiring? It's probably the sensor but also could be something with the air-fuel ratio.
