Xterra Reduced Engine Power

My 2012 Nissan Xterra with a gasoline engine, at 113352 km, is showing reduced engine power and the check engine light. I suspect a defective throttle valve, but it could be the accelerator pedal module or electronics. Has anyone seen this?

I had similar symptoms on my Nissan Frontier. Is the engine idling rough? Check the air flow sensor and throttle body. A dirty air intake can also cause a response delay.

Air flow seems normal, but I'll re-check. What exactly was your fix? Did it involve replacing the throttle body?

Yeah, I ended up replacing the entire throttle body. After cleaning it and checking all the connections, the problem persisted. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop; they can diagnose the electronics inside.

Thanks. The shop confirmed a defective throttle valve. Repair cost 265€. Replaced the throttle body; all good now.
