Xterra seat heater failure

My 2007 Nissan Xterra with the gasoline engine seat heater isn't working. The light comes on, but it's not heating. An error code is showing. I suspect the heating mat, but has anyone dealt with this before? Electrical work isn't my strength. Any advice before I tear into the seat?

I had something similar with my Xterra. Is the thermal sensor still working correctly?

Thermal sensor? Where's that located, and how do I check it?

Yeah, that was what broke it when it happened to me. Honestly, I couldn't figure it out myself and took it to a workshop nearby. They replaced the mat.

Right on. Workshop it is, then. Seems like I am going that direction anyways. Thanks for the tip. Got a quote for around 390€, so I'm bracing myself for that, because I imagine the part alone will be expensive.
