XTrail diesel power loss

My 2011 Nissan XTrail diesel is losing power, running rough, and bucking when accelerating. There's a loud hissing sound, fuel consumption is high, and the engine light is on. Mileage is about 151,640 km. I suspect the intake manifold flap control. Anyone else seen this?

I had similar issues with my XTrail. Check the intake manifold flap control switch. Is the engine light on?

Yeah, engine light is on constantly now. It was intermittent at first. What exactly was happening with yours? Was it exactly as I described, and did it go away?

Pretty much identical, all the symptoms. I'd suggest getting the intake manifold flap control looked at by a workshop. It sounds like that's where your problem lies.

Appreciate the confirmation. Garage confirmed it was the intake manifold flap control. They replaced it, and it has been repaired. Cost me 465 X€ which hurt, but she's running smoothly now.
