XTrail engine power loss
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Nissan XTrail hybrid with 159,000 km is experiencing a significant drop in engine power and has the check engine light on. Yeah, that sounds pretty spot on, actually. The fuel efficiency has definitely taken a hit, and the response when I accelerate is sluggish. Air intake could also be the problem. So, did you figure out what the culprit was in your case?

Yep, sounds exactly like what I went through. Turned out the throttle valve was defective, like you suspected. Honestly, I'd recommend taking it to a workshop. They'll be able to diagnose it properly and get it sorted. In the end, the repair cost about 265€.

Thanks for the info! It's good to know I'm not totally off base with my thinking. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – throttle valve issue. They replaced it, and it cost exactly what you said. Appreciate the help!

Reduced engine power and a check engine light on your XTrail, eh? Sounds familiar! I had something similar happen with my XTrail not too long ago. Was it like the car was struggling to get air intake and the fuel efficiency tanked? Was there a weird response delay when you hit the gas, almost like limp mode? Could also be the air flow...
