XTrail Hybrid Reduced Engine Power
Summary of the thread
A 2022 Nissan XTrail hybrid is experiencing reduced engine power, with error codes related to the engine control unit. The issue may be linked to a faulty main relay, as suggested by a similar case where a voltage drop at the ECU under load indicated a relay problem. Checking the voltage under load or consulting a workshop for a relay inspection is recommended. Replacing the defective relay resolved the issue, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Interesting! I haven't checked the voltage under load specifically, just at idle. Where exactly did you measure the voltage? And did you find any specific voltage drop that pointed you to the relay?

I measured it right at the ECU connector itself, probing the power supply wires. Honestly, I didn't dive too deep myself beyond that. I took it straight to a workshop as I lacked the proper gear. They confirmed similar symptoms, and traced it back to a faulty relay. It's worth checking, or just getting it looked at.

Sounds like I'm barking up the right tree then. I'll check the voltage under load. Otherwise, off to the shop it goes. The main relay was defective – X€120 later and she's back to her old self! Cheers!

I had something similar happen with my XTrail (petrol, not hybrid, though). Reduced power, check engine light. Did you happen to check the voltage at the ECU when the engine is under load? I'm wondering if it's struggling to maintain the correct voltage, which triggers the ECU to throw those codes.
