XTrail knock sensor issue

Hi, I have a 2023 Nissan XTrail hybrid with about 90k km on it. Recently, the check engine light came on, and I've noticed higher fuel consumption and some uneven idling. I scanned the error codes and it points to a defective knock sensor. I checked the sensor itself and the cable and plug connection seem to be defective. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hey! I had a similar issue with my XTrail. The check engine light was on, and the car was drinking fuel like it was going out of style. Uneven idling too, like the engine was trying to do the tango. I'm not sure about the knock sensor specifically, but it sounds like the same symptoms. Did you check the wiring?

Yes, I checked the wiring and the plug looks corroded. Did you solve the problem yourself or did you give it to the workshop?

I took mine to a workshop because honestly, car electrics are like a bowl of spaghetti to me – I can't make heads or tails of it, so I suggest you give it to the workshop. They sorted me out quickly, and the car runs perfectly.

Thanks for the input! I'll take it to the workshop next week. They quoted me about 95€ for that, including material. Hopefully, that solves the problem.
