XTrail smartphone connection issue

Hi, I'm having issues with my 2010 Nissan XTrail, gasoline engine, with 235909 km on the clock. I'm experiencing function restrictions; specifically, my smartphone won't connect to the car's system. The error memory also shows a stored error. I've tried re-pairing my phone multiple times, but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my 2016 Opel Astra. The incorrect pairing with the end device was the culprit. Have you checked for any software revisions for your XTrail's infotainment system? Maybe a firmware refresh could resolve this malfunction.

Thanks for the info. Where exactly would I find software revisions for the infotainment system? Is that something I can do myself, or does it require special tools?

In my case, a visit to the workshop was necessary for the software refresh. It's a proprietary system, and I didn't want to risk bricking anything. Considering the stored error, it might be a more complex issue. A workshop visit could be a worthwhile step.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I'll book it in with a workshop. They said the incorrect pairing with the end device was the problem and they re-did it. Repair cost was 45€. Appreciate the advice!
