Yaris AC failure

Help! My 2006 Toyota Yaris (gasoline engine) is acting up. The automatic temperature control is totally dead, and the air conditioning won't even switch on anymore. I scanned it and there's an error stored related to the interior temperature sensor. Any ideas?

Dude, I had something similar happen in my Yaris, though I can't remember the exact year. Is the temperature reading on your display completely bonkers or just stuck?

Stuck, totally stuck! It's like it's frozen in place and doesn't change at all. Could a dodgy sensor really stop the whole AC system from working?

Yep, that sounds exactly like what happened to mine. The sensor crapped out and messed everything up. I'm no mechanic, but I'd bet it's the sensor or the wiring. I just took it to a workshop in the end.

Cheers! I appreciate the info. That settles it, I'll get it looked at in a shop. Turns out it was a defective wire/plug connection to the temperature sensor! Cost me 95€ to get sorted.
