Thanks for the reply! I haven't checked the brake lines closely yet, will do that tomorrow. The car brakes were inspected about 2 years ago, but I haven't checked them myself recently. Do you think it could be worn brakes?

Yes, it's quite likely worn brakes are the culprit. As the pads wear down, the fluid level drops to compensate. I ended up taking mine to a workshop and they confirmed the same. It's best to get it checked by a professional, especially with brake system issues.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out the brakes were worn and needed replacing. Cost me 480€, but at least it's sorted!

I had a similar issue with my Yaris, but mine was a petrol. I noticed the brake fluid warning light come on. Have you checked your brake lines for any leaks? When was the last time you had your car brakes inspected?
