Yaris diesel glow plug issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Toyota Yaris diesel is experiencing a persistent preheating lamp issue, likely indicating a glow plug problem. Glow plugs are essential for diesel engine combustion, especially in cold weather. The suggested solution is to have the glow plugs checked and potentially replaced by a professional to prevent further issues.

Thanks! Do you remember the specific error codes you got? What symptoms did you notice before you knew it was the glow plugs?

Can't recall the exact error code, but the symptoms were just like yours. I'd get it checked by a workshop to avoid more problems. I had them replace all the glow plugs, and that fixed it.

Thanks for the help. Took it to a shop, and they agreed. Cost me 440€ to replace all the glow plugs. Appreciate the insight!

I have a Yaris too. Sounds super familiar. If the preheating lamp stays on and you're getting a fault in the error memory, it's probably a glow plug. They're key for combustion, especially in cold weather for diesels.
