Yaris diesel reset quantity drift compensation

I'm having a head-scratcher with my 2006 Toyota Yaris, diesel engine. It's got 148221 km on the clock. Recently, the engine's been running rough, and the check engine light keeps popping on. My OBD reader shows an error related to "reset quantity drift compensation". It points towards a potential issue with the fuel injection system, maybe a defective injector valve. Has anyone experienced anything similar, especially regarding this 'drift compensation' thing? Any insights would be appreciated before I start throwing parts at it!

Whoa, "reset quantity drift compensation" sounds serious! I haven't seen that exact error before, but rough running and the check engine light usually means fuel or air issues. Is it just rough at idle, or all the time? Maybe try a fuel system cleaner first? Could be a simple fix!

It's rough-running pretty much across the board, though it's definitely more noticeable at lower speeds and when idling. I thought about a fuel system cleaner, but I'm a bit worried that if it is an injector issue, I might just be masking the problem instead of fixing it. Also, does anyone know if the "reset quantity drift compensation" requires some sort of special procedure? Do I need to recalibrate something after replacing the injector?

Okay, rough running all the time sounds less like a simple fix. And yeah, messing with injectors can be tricky. I'd honestly take it to a workshop to get it properly diagnosed. Could save you money and headaches in the long run. Better safe than sorry with fuel injection stuff.

I took it to a local mechanic. Turns out it was a defective injector valve, just like the error code suggested. They replaced it and did the necessary compensation adjustment. Total cost was around 515€, which is a bummer, but at least it's running smoothly again. Appreciate your input!
