Yaris fuel pressure issue

My 2011 Toyota Yaris diesel is having an issue. With only 30731 km, the check engine light is on and off. It stalls at idle and has less power when I accelerate. The diagnostics say it's a bad fuel pressure regulator. This happened soon after I changed the fuel filter. Has this happened to anyone else?

I saw similar things on my Yaris: misfire, bad mileage... I first thought maybe the fuel pump or a bad pressure sensor. Was the fuel filter put in right? Was it seated and sealed well?

The fuel filter looked like it was in correctly, and the seals were all seated right. Could a small mistake when changing the fuel filter really cause a fuel pressure regulator problem, considering what's happening?

Yes, I still think it could be related. In my case, it turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator after all. I would suggest having a workshop check it out. It might save you a lot of time and potential further damage.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a local mechanic and it was the fuel pressure regulator. The error after changing the filter was probably just a coincidence. It cost 45€, which is okay. The Yaris is running well again.
