Yaris Rear Window Heating Issue

Hey, I'm having a head-scratcher with my 2017 Toyota Yaris, gasoline engine. The rear window heating isn't working at all. I'm getting an error stored and the windshield heating seems weaker than usual. Could a heavily discharged or defective battery cause this? Car has 47910 km.

Interesting. I had a similar thing happen with my Yaris. You checked the fuses, right? Could be something simple. Does the light on the switch come on when you try to use the rear defroster?

Yeah, the light comes on. So, if the fuse is okay and the light is on, what else could it be? I read something about a defective battery causing it. Could it be?

Hmm, yeah, could very well be the battery. I ended up taking mine to a workshop, and they found it was a battery issue causing all sorts of weird electrical problems, including the rear window heater. Cost me about 290€ to sort out.

Thanks a lot! I was afraid of that. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and get the battery checked. Fingers crossed it's just that! Seems like you saved me a lot of time.
