Yaris Sun Blind Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2023 Toyota Yaris owner is experiencing issues with the sun blind, which gets stuck and throws an error. The problem is suspected to be a faulty motor, as the blind makes a whirring sound and moves slightly before stopping. The suggested solution is to have the motor checked and likely replaced at a workshop, with an estimated repair cost of around 330€.

It makes a whirring sound, like it's trying, but then stops. Sometimes it moves a centimeter or two, then gets stuck again. Does that sound like the motor to you?

Yep, that confirms it for me. The motor's probably on its way out. You could try fiddling with it, but honestly, you're probably better off taking it to a workshop. The repair will likely cost around 330€. They will likely replace the whole unit.

Thanks for the advice! I suspected as much. I'll book it in for a check-up at the workshop and get the sun blind motor replaced. At least now I know what to expect with the repair costs.

Sounds like a faulty motor. Does the blind make any noise when you try to operate it? Is it completely dead, or does it try to move at all?
