Yaris temperature sensor error

I'm having trouble with my 2014 Toyota Yaris hybrid. It has about 122973 kilometers on it. I'm getting an error message on the speedometer, and the diagnostics show an error related to the temperature sensor heat exchanger. Also, the AC doesn't work anymore. Could this be a sensor issue, or something more complex in the cooling system?

That sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Yaris. Is your temperature gauge acting erratically? It could be a sensor calibration thing, but in my case, it was a problem with the AC control unit. It's like the central nervous system for the system; if it's faulty, it throws everything off.

When mine broke, the error was similar, flagging the temperature sensor. It's like blaming the messenger. The faulty control unit was sending bad signals, making the system think there was a problem with the temperature sensor. I would go to a workshop to check that. It cost me 980€ to fix.
