Zoe radar sensor error

Hi, I have a 2013 Renault Zoe (electric) with 141716 km. I'm getting a radar sensor error. The speedometer shows an error message, and there's an error stored in the memory. It's also causing some other systems to fail and a warning light is on. Could a dirty sensor really be the cause?

Hey! I also own a Zoe. I had similar issues a while back. The adaptive cruise control went haywire, and the emergency braking kept triggering randomly. It was super annoying and frankly, a bit scary. Did you check if the sensor is physically obstructed by anything? Even a bit of dirt or a bug splat can mess with those things.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did give the sensor area a quick wipe, but it didn't seem to make a difference. Where exactly is the radar sensor located on the Zoe? Maybe I missed a spot or didn't clean it thoroughly enough.

No worries! On my Zoe, the radar sensor is behind the front bumper, pretty much dead center. If a simple wipe didn't fix it, honestly, it might be worth taking it to a workshop. They can properly diagnose it and recalibrate the sensor if needed. Could be a more serious issue than just dirt.

Thanks! I took your advice and went to the workshop. Turns out the sensor was indeed dirty and needed a proper clean. They charged me 45€ and everything is working fine now!
