Zoe rear window heating malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Renault Zoe is experiencing issues with the rear window heating and reduced effectiveness of the windshield heating. An error code was found, but its meaning is unclear. A potential cause could be low voltage from a dying battery, which might require replacement. It is suggested to conduct a battery health check and consider other possibilities like faulty connections before proceeding with costly repairs.

Thanks! I'll check the error code again. If it indicates low voltage, is replacing the battery the only solution? What else should I investigate before such an expensive repair?

If the error code points to low voltage and you have those symptoms, especially with the rear window heater, a heavily discharged or defective battery is likely. There might be other possibilities, like a faulty connection, but get a proper battery health check. I had to replace mine, and that fixed it.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll take it to a workshop for a diagnostic. The estimated repair cost is around 290€ so I hope that fixes the problem!

I also have a Zoe and had similar symptoms last winter. The rear defroster stopped working, and the front seemed weak. Does the error code point to low voltage? It could be that the battery is dying. It's like trying to run your house lights on a nearly dead flashlight battery; some things will dim or not work at all.
