Hey, thanks a bunch for the advice. Sounds like a similar situation to mine - I sure hope the injectors aren't out of whack, don't fancy shelling out that much. To answer your questions, my Trajet's done 94291 KM, and I did have a full service not too long ago. No odd noises, just the rough idling and that strong exhaust smell, but I will definitely get it checked asap. Cheers for the help, really appreciate it!

Hey again, happy to help! With your Trajet running close to 100k KM, certain parts are bound to wear out - cars ain't immortal, sadly. And if you have had it serviced recently but problems persist, I'd still think about those injectors, they do take a beating, especially on older models. Now, I'm not saying it's definitely that, but it's worth a check. Another thing I'd suggest looking into is your vehicle's O2 sensor and fuel system. I once had a similar strong exhaust smell from my Santa Fe, it was due to a faulty O2 sensor and my fuel system was clogged. So there's another couple of potential culprits for you. Final bit of advice - make sure the workshop runs a diagnostic scan. It'll reveal any stored error codes that will point directly to what your problem might be. It's amazing what those little computers can tell us! Keep us posted on what you find out. Best of luck!

Cracking advice! Cheers again for all your useful tips. You're right about cars not being immortal, a harsh reality we have to deal with. I'll surely look into the O2 sensor and the fuel system, adding those to my checklist along with the injectors. Will ensure the workshop runs a diagnostic scan for sure. Can't thank you enough! Fingers crossed, I'll get this sorted. Will update you with what unfolds. Stay safe!

Hey there, I've had a slightly similar rough ride with my '05 Hyundai Santa Fe. I'm far from a mechanic, but I've learned a thing or two over the years dealing with car trouble. Took my ride to the local workshop when I experienced similar issues like yours - less power, and the old gas guzzler just wasn't as efficient as she used to be. Turned out to be defective injectors. Cost me a pretty penny, about 515 Euro to be exact. What I'd suggest is get it checked out by a pro ASAP - those symptoms you're describing ain't something to ignore. By the way, what's the mileage on your Trajet? Have you recently done a full-service check-up? Any strange noises or just the rough idling and smell? These extra details can help pin down the issue. Take care and don't let it slide!
