Hey, the drama with your Cima sounds pretty darn familiar. My old Z just pulled the same stunt a while back. From what you and are saying, it does seem like you're having a problem with the combustion chamber. By the way,, can you remember how much you forked out for the 'clean and decarb' operation? And did anything else pop up post-mechanic visit that gave you grief? Fingers crossed all's been good since!

Hey, yeah, I sure do remember the bill for the whole clean and decarb operation. Coughed up a not-so-cool 425€ for getting those nasty deposits out of the combustion chamber. Definitely not the kind of surprise I like, but well, gotta keep the motor running, right? Post the mechanic's visit, I didn't notice any new issues crop up, thank the car gods! Plus, that pesky knocking issue finally got its eviction notice. It's been purring like a kitten ever since. The better fuel efficiency is a huge plus. I reckon, at the end of the day, it was worth the investment. Now, my old Glorie chugs along smoothly and doesn't drink fuel like a sailor anymore. Fingers crossed it stays that way. Still, being a car owner definitely keeps you on your toes, doesn't it?

Cheers guys, you both are life-savers. What you've shared has given me a clearer picture of my situation. Unfortunate to hear about that hefty bill. But it's reassuring to know that it worked out in the end. Given the symptoms, I guess, it's time to pay the piper and get those deposits out. I'll have to dig deep and find a car-doctor who can perform this complex operation. Goes without saying, owning a car is like being on a roller-coaster ride, thrilling but unpredictable. Anyways, hoping that my Cima will be back on track soon, without breaking the bank. Will keep everyone posted here. Thanks again, guys. Cross your fingers for me!

Hey there, sounds like you're having a similar issue I had with my '05 Nissan Gloria. Had the same symptoms, the check engine light, power loss, weird sounds, the lot. Your suspicion about knocking combustion might be spot on. In my case, it turned out to be deposits in the combustion chamber. These darn deposits can cause all sorts of havoc. In my ride they led to irregular combustion which caused that weird knocking sound. It was quite a serious issue 'cause it messed with the engine timing and fuel efficiency. The jerking you're experiencing could be a misfire due to the same. Getting rid of those deposits wasn't an easy ride either. My mechanic had to disassemble the engine, then manually clean and decarbonize each part. The combustion chamber, valves, everything had to be cleaned out. Would you believe it, some parts had to be replaced entirely! Was a whole load of work but at the end, it completely solved the problem. So yep, my advice... find a good, trustworthy mechanic who can handle such a task. It’s definitely not a job every mechanic can pull off. Hope this helps. Keep us posted.
