2019 Hyundai ix35 Passenger Electric Seat Error: Seeking Advice and Similar Experiences

Hey! I have a 2019 Hyundai ix35, a Gasoline engine, clocked around 87,108 KM. Lately, I've been having issues with the electric seats. Some fault stored showed up, suggesting a passenger electric seat error. My last mechanic visit ended up pretty badly so a bit skeptical now! Has anyone had a similar experience? What was your mechanic's response? Trying to gather some knowledge before heading off to the garage. Thanks!

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Hyundai ix35 owner is experiencing issues with the passenger electric seat, indicated by a stored fault. They are seeking advice and similar experiences due to a previous unsatisfactory mechanic visit. A possible cause suggested by another person is a defective battery, which had caused similar issues in their vehicle, resolved by replacing the battery. The owner is considering this possibility before visiting a mechanic.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Hey there, I totally get where you're coming from. Had a pretty similar issue with my 2016 Hyundai Tucson. Engine was fine, but suddenly had an issue with battery drainage that my mechanic said was due to a defective battery. Had to change the entire thing. After that, all of the electric parts including passenger electric seats were working smoothly again. It wasn't a small issue per se, required a bit of work but these things happen at times. No point getting worked up over it. Can't help much with the diagnosis without a hands-on inspection but yup, that's what happened with me. Hope it gives you a bit of insight. Good luck!

Hey, thanks for sharing your experience. That gave me a bit of insight. The battery thing, I didn't think about that! So, you had to swap out the whole shebang, huh? This makes me curious though, if you can remember, about how much did it dent your wallet to get it fixed? And, have you had any similar or related issues come up since then? I don't want any nasty surprises after riding on the mechanic's assurance like last time! Cheers!

Hey, yeah, unfortunately, I did have to do a complete swap to get the ride back on track. As for the expenses, I had to dish out around 290 € for the battery replacement. It stung for sure, but once fixed, it's been smooth sailing since then. Getting back to your query about any related problems, thankfully, I haven't had any! The passenger electric seat issue was fixed up after the battery swap. Turns out, the gremlins messing with my seat functions were all due to the defective battery. Crazy, right? Trust me, I understand the anxiety of not wanting any nasty surprises. But just remember, every vehicle has its own quirks, and once you sort them out, it's all part of the journey. Safe travels and keep us posted!

Super helpful truly appreciate it! 290 €, wow, that's a bit pricey but I suppose all these posh techs aren't exactly budget-friendly to upkeep, huh? Not gonna lie, your 'smooth sailing' assurance has given me a bit of comfort! 'Quirks', indeed. Guess I'll add this one to my ix35's list! The defective battery theory seems valid. I'll consider this factor definitely. Thanks for the advice I'll keep you and the group updated about what goes down. For now, keep those wheels rolling and stay safe! Cheers!
