Thanks! Yes, the engine light came on a few days ago. I haven't checked the backpressure specifically. I've never had the DPF cleaned, and it's been quite a while since the last vehicle inspection. Are there any specific checks I should perform before considering a DPF replacement?

Given that the engine light is on, and considering the mileage, it's highly likely the DPF is the culprit. While DPF cleaning might offer a temporary solution, it's often not a permanent fix, especially if the filter is significantly degraded. I recommend getting a professional vehicle inspection to confirm the DPF's condition. It's the best way to determine if cleaning or replacement is necessary. In my case, it turned out that the filter was beyond saving and needed replacement.

Thanks for the advice! I took it to a workshop, and it was indeed a defective DPF. Replacing it set me back 1550€, but the car is running smoothly again. I'll definitely keep a closer eye on the DPF and consider regular cleaning in the future.

I also drive a 4007 with a diesel engine, and your symptoms sound very familiar. Reduced power and smoke on acceleration are classic signs of DPF trouble. Have you noticed if the engine light is on? It could also be related to backpressure in the exhaust system. When was the last time you had a vehicle inspection?
