4008 Oil Pressure Warning

My 2016 Peugeot 4008, gasoline engine, is throwing an oil pressure warning. 70k km. Oil light flickers, and I'm hearing nasty mechanical noises. Oil level is fine. Could it be the oil pressure sensor, or worse, the pump?

I also own a Peugeot 4008, and your symptoms sound very similar to an issue I encountered. In my case, the low oil pressure warning, accompanied by unusual engine noises, turned out to be related to the oil pump. Have you checked the oil viscosity or whether the oil filter might be clogged?

Interesting! So, it was the oil pump for you too? Was it a gradual thing, or did it just suddenly happen? And did you try anything else before replacing the pump? Any advice on checking the oil filter?

In my case, the failure was relatively sudden. The warning light appeared intermittently at first, then became constant. I would recommend having the oil pressure professionally tested to confirm the diagnosis. If it is indeed the oil pump, I would advise against delaying the repair, as prolonged operation with low oil pressure can cause severe damage to the engine bearings. I ended up having the pump replaced at a workshop. The bill was 755€. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for the info! Sounds like I'm heading to the workshop. Will get it checked out ASAP. At least I have a better idea of what to expect now. Appreciate the help!
