4Runner Lighting Fault

I'm experiencing a lighting fault in my 2005 Toyota 4Runner with a diesel engine. The lights switch on, and an error is stored. I suspect the cable or plug connection is defective. The vehicle has 54939 km on it. Has anyone encountered something similar?

I have a 4Runner as well. I had a similar issue with my automotive switch. Check the fuse box and dashboard lights; it might be related to a faulty fuse or a loose connection. Could you describe the stored error in more detail?

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I lack deeper knowledge about error codes. Could you describe the location of the fuse box a bit more precisely?

The fuse box is usually located under the dashboard or in the engine compartment. Because you have limited knowledge, I recommend visiting a workshop to have the error memory read out and the faulty component professionally replaced. In my case, the garage replaced the faulty switch. It cost 95€. I hope this helps!

Thank you for the advice. I will take it to a workshop and have it checked. It is probably the most effective way to solve the problem. I appreciate your help!
