607 Engine Power Loss
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Peugeot 607 2.0 HDi experienced significant engine power loss, rough running, jerking during acceleration, a loud hissing sound, and increased fuel consumption. The suspected cause was a defective intake manifold flap control switch. After replacing the faulty switch, the car's performance returned to normal.

Thanks for the tip! When you say 'check the intake manifold', do you mean the flap control switch specifically, or the entire intake system? Any specific areas I should be looking at first?

Yep, the flap control switch. That's what went on mine. I'd say get it checked at a workshop, they will know what to do.

Thanks for the confirmation. I took it to a local garage, and you were spot on. The intake manifold flap control switch was indeed defective. Replaced it, and the car is running perfectly again. Total cost was 465€ Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my 607. Check your intake manifold. I bet that's where your problem lies.
