607 Engine Power Loss

Hi, I'm having some issues with my 2009 Peugeot 607 2.0 HDi. It's got about 195k kilometers on the clock. I've noticed a significant reduction in engine power, rough running, and some jerking when accelerating. There's also a loud hissing sound when I put my foot down, and fuel consumption has definitely increased. I suspect it might be related to the intake manifold flap control. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Sounds familiar! I had similar symptoms on my 607. Check your intake manifold. I bet that's where your problem lies.

Thanks for the tip! When you say 'check the intake manifold', do you mean the flap control switch specifically, or the entire intake system? Any specific areas I should be looking at first?

Yep, the flap control switch. That's what went on mine. I'd say get it checked at a workshop, they will know what to do.

Thanks for the confirmation. I took it to a local garage, and you were spot on. The intake manifold flap control switch was indeed defective. Replaced it, and the car is running perfectly again. Total cost was 465€ Appreciate the help!
