Thank you for your insights I haven't checked the fuses yet Could you provide further details regarding the location of the relevant fuses and how to identify whether they are defective Also, did your BMW display any specific error messages or unusual behavior beyond the heating malfunction

Replacing the fuse was only a temporary solution, which indicates an underlying problem If your Mercedes is storing error codes and your parking heater is completely non functional, I agree that a faulty glow plug could very well be the culprit, leading to costly repairs Considering the complexity of modern car heating systems, a visit to a qualified workshop would provide a definitive diagnosis and the most appropriate solution I don't want you messing with it and making it worse

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences and providing valuable guidance I appreciate you cautioning me against attempting a repair beyond my capabilities Following your advice, I took my Mercedes to a trusted mechanic After a thorough inspection, they confirmed that the glow plug was indeed defective The repair, including parts and labor, amounted to approximately 440€, as I had initially anticipated The heating system is now functioning correctly, and the error message has been cleared from the system memory

I remember when my BMW 3 series had similar symptoms with its heating system It turned out to be a fuse and some faulty wiring related to the climate control unit Did you check the fuses related to the heating system Also, did you observe any unusual smells, like burning, that might indicate a short circuit or overheating
