ABS warning and failure of the DSC system in the 2017 Skoda Karoq: experience and advice wanted

Hi everyone, I currently have a problem with my Skoda Karoq, built in 2017, with a gasoline engine and just under 46,000 km mileage. I get an ABS warning and the ABS/DSC system doesn't seem to be working. In addition, a warning light comes on in the speedometer and the fault memory has stored something. I suspect it could be the speed signal. Have any of you ever had problems like this and what was your experience with the mechanic? I would appreciate your experience and advice. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I had a similar problem with my 2014 Skoda Octavia a while ago. It turned out that the ABS speed sensor had given up the ghost. After replacing the sensor, the problem was solved. No more ABS warning and the ABS/DSC system was running smoothly again. A problem with the speed signal can certainly be caused by such a defective sensor. But I would advise you to go to a mechanic. There can be various causes and remote diagnosis is always difficult. On my last visit to the garage, the mechanic read out the fault codes and was then able to identify exactly what the problem was. It wasn't fun, but at least I was able to estimate what the problem could be the next time. Hope that helps you!

Hey, I'm glad I could help you. Well, I can reassure you about the speed signal. After I went to the mechanic, the problem was solved. Since then, there have been no more problems with it. As for the cost, I had to pay €95 for the repair of the wiring harness/plug. You didn't have to wait long for the repair either. So all in all it went pretty well.
