Accent AC control unit failure
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Hyundai Accent experienced AC issues where the system wouldn't switch on, and the air wasn't cooling, accompanied by a warning light on the speedometer and a stored error in the error memory. The problem was identified as a defective AC control unit, which was confirmed by a workshop. Replacing the control unit resolved the issue, restoring the AC's functionality.

I haven't checked for leaks yet, but the system being completely unresponsive makes me think it might be more than just low refrigerant. Did your compressor also fail to engage, or did you have other symptoms?

Yes, exactly! The compressor wasn't engaging at all. After some diagnostics, the workshop told me that the air conditioning control unit was defective. It was a costly fix but resolved the problem completely. I suggest you go to the workshop.

Thanks for the insight! I'll get it checked out. I suspected a deeper problem. The workshop confirmed your suspicion: defective AC control unit. Repair cost me 980€. AC is working again!

I had a similar problem with my Accent. It turned out to be related to the AC system not activating. Have you checked for any refrigerant leaks or compressor issues?
