Accent boost pressure issue
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Hyundai Accent with a diesel engine is experiencing a bad boost pressure system, indicated by a check engine light, reduced power, stalling at idle, increased fuel consumption, and a whistling and hissing noise. The issue could be related to faulty pressure sensors or a defective wastegate valve, which can affect engine performance and idle stability. A visit to a mechanic confirmed the wastegate valve was the problem, and it was repaired.

Pressure sensors, got it. Where exactly are those located? And could that really cause the stalling?

Without knowing the exact engine configuration of your Accent, it's tricky to pinpoint their location, but they are often found near the intake manifold or along the boost pipes. Given the symptoms you describe, a faulty wastegate valve seems a likely culprit; it can definitely mess with the engine's idle and overall performance, causing the stalling you're experiencing. I would suggest a visit to a trusted mechanic, as specialized diagnostic tools might be required to confirm the issue.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the workshop; you were right, wastegate valve was defective. Cost me 860€ to fix.

That does sound concerning! I had similar issues with my previous vehicle, though it was a different make. Have you inspected the throttle body or any of the pressure sensors? Check for any obvious damage or loose connections. Sometimes, a simple visual inspection can reveal a lot!
