Accord electrical malfunction
Summary of the thread
A 2016 Honda Accord hybrid is experiencing an electrical malfunction, with a weak battery on startup and an error message indicating a potential issue with the auxiliary battery not charging correctly. Possible causes include an old or failing battery and corrosion on the terminals, which can prevent a good connection. Suggested solutions include checking the battery voltage while the engine is running to assess the alternator's performance and considering a professional inspection to avoid further electrical issues. Ultimately, replacing the auxiliary battery resolved the problem.

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate you sharing your experience. Could you tell me what ultimately resolved the electrical issues you experienced? Was it a charging problem with the auxiliary battery, or was there another cause?

For me, it was a mix of things. Turns out my battery was old and tired. But also, there was some corrosion on the terminals preventing a good connection. I cleaned those up, but honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a workshop. Electrical gremlins can be a real pain, and you don't want to fry anything important.

Thanks for the advice. I took the vehicle to a workshop. The auxiliary battery had to be replaced. The repair cost came to 290€.

Oh, that sounds rough! I have an Accord too. I had something similar happen a while back. The car acted like it was possessed! My lights were flickering and the engine barely turned over. It was like the car was slowly giving up the ghost. Have you checked the voltage while the engine is running? That might give you a clue if the alternator is doing its job.
