Accord Hybrid transmission emergency mode

Okay, I'm officially pulling my hair out! I have a 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid, and I'm running into a weird issue at 83318 km. The transmission indicator light and check engine light keep popping on. When that happens, the automatic transmission goes into emergency mode. Basically, it won't shift properly – feels like it's slipping or shifting really rough, and I'm even getting some grinding noises sometimes! I've scanned the error memory, and it points towards a radiator oil pressure issue. I'm suspecting it could be a defective cable or plug connection to the component. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Summary of the thread

A 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid is experiencing transmission issues at 83,318 km, with the transmission indicator and check engine lights activating, causing the transmission to enter emergency mode. The problem includes rough shifting and grinding noises, with error codes suggesting a radiator oil pressure issue. A similar case pointed to a faulty pressure sensor, potentially due to a defective cable or plug connection, and it is advised to have a professional repair shop address the issue.

Whoa, that sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my Accord (not sure the year, though). Transmission acting all sorts of crazy, lights flashing... it was a nightmare. Did you check your cooling fan? If it is broken, it might cause the car overheating. It might be related to the pressure sensor. If it's the same issue I had, the sensor was sending bogus readings, and the car was freaking out.

Interesting! So, just to clarify, was it definitely the pressure sensor in your case? And did you have the same symptoms – the transmission going into emergency mode and all that jazz? Just trying to get a clearer picture before I start tearing things apart.

Yep, pretty sure it was the pressure sensor. All the same symptoms too – limp mode, rough shifting, the whole shebang. Honestly, I'd suggest taking it to a shop. It sounds like you know your way around cars, but messing with the transmission can be risky. I ended up paying around 95€ for the repair, it wasn't cheap, but worth it to get it fixed right.

Thanks a bunch for sharing your experience! Knowing that someone else had the exact same symptoms and that it was likely the pressure sensor is a huge help. I really appreciate the advice. I will take it to the workshop to get it checked. I suspected the same. Cable or plug connection of the component defective. Now I can go to the shop with a better idea of what's going on!
