Not really, the code was pretty generic, just pointing to the active hood system. Is it possible that a defective acceleration sensor could be the issue?

That's exactly what it was on my Volvo. The acceleration sensor went bad, triggering the whole system. I would suggest taking it to a workshop to have them diagnose it properly. They can pinpoint the faulty sensor and replace it.

Thanks for the advice! Took it to a local garage, and you were spot on. Turns out it was the acceleration sensor. They replaced it, cleared the codes, and everything seems to be working fine now. The whole thing cost me about 315€ Appreciate the help!

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my 2018 Volvo. Airbag light and a pedestrian safety system error. Did the reader specify which sensor is faulty?
