Active hood fault C1

I am experiencing an issue with my 2006 Citroen C1 diesel. The on-board computer displays 'Active hood fault', accompanied by the airbag warning lamp in the speedometer. Diagnostic checks reveal a stored error, and it appears the spring actuators have been triggered. Could a defective acceleration sensor be the root cause? The car has 154144 km on the clock.

I had a similar issue with my C1 a while back. Airbag light, the whole nine yards. Did the error code point specifically to the acceleration sensor?

The error code does indicate a fault related to the acceleration sensor, specifically within the active hood system. I'm trying to understand if a faulty sensor is the definite trigger before potentially replacing it.

Sounds very familiar. In my case, it was indeed the acceleration sensor causing the active hood fault. Although I would have loved to fix this myself, I eventually brought it to a workshop. It's a pain, but might be worth avoiding further headaches.

Thank you for confirming. Based on your experience and the diagnostic information, I proceeded with replacing the acceleration sensor. The issue is now resolved. The repair cost was 315€. Appreciate the help.
