Adam ABS Fault

I've got a 2018 Vauxhall Adam with a gasoline engine and about 53,000 km on the clock. Recently, the ABS lamp lights up and I'm experiencing traction problems, effectively a failure of the ABS system. Diagnostics point to a speed signal fault, but the odometer is still working. Any ideas on where to start looking?

That sounds frustrating. I had a similar speed signal malfunction on my old Peugeot 308 a few years back. The symptoms were almost identical: ABS light, traction control going haywire. Have you checked the wheel speed sensors themselves, or just relied on the diagnostic code? Also, have you been able to read the speed signal input from each sensor using a diagnostic tool?

Thanks for the insight. I've only relied on the initial diagnostic code so far. When you say "speed signal input", do you mean checking the voltage and resistance at each sensor?

Yes, exactly. With the Peugeot, we initially suspected a faulty sensor, but after testing the inputs from each sensor we realized it was the control unit itself that was defective. Because your odometer is working I suspect it may be the same issue. Unfortunately, it ended up costing around 1000€ to replace, but I'd recommend getting a professional opinion before throwing parts at it.

Appreciate the advice. I'll check the sensor inputs and then take it to a workshop. Seems like the control unit is the likely culprit. Cheers!
