Adam transmission fault

I own a 2012 Vauxhall Adam (gasoline engine) and am experiencing a transmission issue. The engine warning light is on, and an error is stored. The gearbox is in emergency mode, slips occasionally, and sometimes shifts poorly. I suspect it might relate to the transmission oil pressure sensor. Has anyone encountered similar problems?

Whoa, sounds rough! I had something similar happen with my Adam. Not saying it's the same, but my symptoms were eerily close. Were you experiencing any weird grinding noises when shifting? That's what sealed it for me. Have you checked your gearbox oil level?

Yes, there are grinding noises when shifting gears. Regarding the oil level, I have not checked it. Is that a likely cause for the pressure sensor fault?

Okay, the grinding plus the pressure sensor makes me think it's quite possible you're low on oil and that's triggering the sensor. Look, I'm no mechanic, so don't take my word as gospel. But if it is low, you could do more damage driving it. Honestly, get it to a workshop ASAP. They can check the level, top it off, and properly diagnose the sensor issue. Best of luck!

I took it to a workshop. The gearbox oil level was indeed too low, triggering the pressure sensor. The repair, including topping up the oil and addressing the sensor issue, cost 365€.
