AdBlue issue on 2018 BR V

Hey guys, I'm having a proper mare with my 2018 Honda BR V diesel. The AdBlue tank seems to be empty, even though I filled it up like two months ago! Now I'm getting an error message on the speedometer, and the car's thrown a code that the garage read. The worst part is, it won't even start now! Anyone else had this happen? Could it be something to do with the diesel exhaust injection system? I'm no expert, but I'm worried it'll cost a fortune to fix, and I need my car!

Summary of the thread

A 2018 Honda BR V diesel is experiencing issues with the AdBlue system, where the tank appears empty despite a recent refill, leading to an error message and a no-start condition. The problem is likely related to a defect in the AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit, a common issue in such systems. It is recommended to visit a workshop for diagnosis and repair, with expected costs around 250€.

Based on the symptoms you describe – the AdBlue tank seemingly empty despite recent filling, the error message, stored error code, and the no-start condition – it is highly probable that you are experiencing a defect with the AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit. To confirm, has the error memory been checked? If so, what specific error codes were registered? Without these error codes, it's challenging to provide a definitive diagnosis.

Thanks for the reply! Yes, the garage did check the error memory, but I can't remember the exact code. They just said it was something to do with the AdBlue system and the emission standards. Is there anything else that could be causing this, or does it definitely sound like the output thingy you mentioned? Is that a common problem?

Given the additional information regarding emission standards errors, the likelihood of a defective AdBlue output from the tank to the dosing unit is further increased. While other issues within the diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) system could contribute, the symptoms strongly suggest this particular problem. This issue is not uncommon. I would suggest that you visit a workshop to resolve the error. Eventual repair costs should be around 250€.

Thanks so much for confirming my fears, haha! At least I know what to expect now. I'll book it into the garage and mention the AdBlue output issue. Hopefully, it won't cost more than the 250€ you mentioned. Cheers for the help!
