Air conditioning and heating problems in the Toyota Hilux (2011)

Hello folks! My Toyota Hilux (petrol, 2011), with a remarkable 258637 km on the clock, has been giving me a real headache for some time now. I'm worried about the air conditioning, it only blows warm air and there are problems with the heating/cooling. I've had the same trouble in the past. Back then, the problem was the solar sensor inside the car. Have you ever had to deal with something like this? What are your experiences? How did it go with the mechanic? I'm looking forward to your answers and advice!

I was recently in exactly the same situation with my Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (diesel, 2014)! The heating/cooling was also acting up and instead of cool air, only warm air came out. In my case, the wiring harness was defective. The mechanic had to replace it completely, which of course took some time. He said it was quite serious because the wiring harness is responsible for the entire electrical wiring of the vehicle. This is apparently not an uncommon problem and can occur with intensive use or high mileage. Although the repair is certainly not pleasant, I would recommend tackling this as soon as possible. Otherwise other components could be damaged. I hope this helps you a little and hope your Hilux gets better soon. Greetings!

Hi, thanks for the good insight into your experience. As you said, the problems with your Landcruiser sound pretty similar to what my Hilux is going through. I'd be interested to know how much it cost you to have the wiring harness changed? And has everything gone smoothly since then or have you had any other problems? I'm looking forward to your feedback. Best regards!

After a visit to the mechanic, the fault with the solar sensor in the interior of the vehicle was rectified. Fortunately! That thing really cost me some nerves. I paid exactly €155 to fix the faulty wiring harness. I'll be honest, it wasn't a lot of money, but it was really worth it. Since then, everything has been running like clockwork again on my Landcruiser. Let's hope it stays that way! Best regards!

Hey, that actually doesn't sound too expensive for such a repair, especially when you consider the impact the wiring harness has on the entire electronic wiring of the car. 155€ is a good price for clearing my head again. Your feedback gives me a great orientation for the upcoming repair. I will take my Hilux straight to the workshop tomorrow and pass on your feedback to them. Thank you very much for sharing and helping me! Take care!
