Airbag warning light constantly on

Hi, my 2012 Renault Wind with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The airbag warning light is constantly on. I've checked under the seats for loose wires, but everything seems connected. Any ideas?

Hey, that sounds annoying! I had a similar issue with my previous car, not a Renault though. Does the light stay on constantly, even after restarting the engine? It could be a faulty sensor or something more serious related to the airbag system. Have you had any airbag recalls on your car?

Yeah, the light stays on all the time, even after restarts. I haven't had any airbag recalls that I know of. Is there anything else I can check myself before taking it to a mechanic?

Honestly, messing with the airbag system yourself isn't recommended. It's a safety feature, and you could accidentally trigger the airbags. Given that you've checked the easy stuff like the wires, it's probably best to get it checked by a professional. My dad had a similar issue and it turned out to be a defective cable. The garage charged 95€ for the repair, including diagnostics.

Thanks for the advice! I'll book it in at the garage and hope it's just a dodgy cable like your dad's. Seems like the safest bet. Cheers!
