Albea Active Hood Fault and Airbag Light
Summary of the thread
A 2011 Fiat Albea diesel is experiencing an "Active hood fault" message and an illuminated airbag light. The issue may be linked to defective acceleration or impact sensors, as the spring actuators are triggering intermittently. A similar case was resolved by replacing the impact sensor, which immediately fixed the problem. It is recommended to visit a workshop to assess and potentially replace the sensor.

Thanks! Interestingly, no, nothing out of the ordinary happened before these issues started. The car has been driven carefully, and no impacts or significant road hazards were encountered. Could you elaborate on your experience? Was the defective acceleration sensor the cause, or was the issue somewhere else?

Yep, sounds exactly like what happened to me. I tried a few things myself, but in the end, I took it to a workshop. They replaced the impact sensor, and the problem went away immediately. Cost me around 300€. Save yourself the headache and just get it checked out.

Thanks for the insight. Based on your experience, I'll visit a workshop to have the impact sensor assessed and replaced if needed. The repair cost was 315€.

Oh, that sounds familiar. I've got an Albea too, and I had something similar happen a while back. The 'Active hood fault' message kept popping up along with the airbag light. Did anything happen right before it started, like even a small bump or pothole?
