Albea Fuel Regulator Issue

My 2003 Fiat Albea, gasoline engine, is giving me fits. It has 149704 km. The check engine light illuminated, and the engine stalls at idle sometimes. When driving, the engine power is noticeably reduced. I've run diagnostics, and it points towards a defective fuel volume regulator. I suspect the high-pressure pump might be the root cause. Has anyone experienced anything similar? It's incredibly frustrating!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Albea. Check engine light, stalling... the works. Was your fuel economy also in the toilet?

Fuel economy has definitely taken a hit, yes! I should have mentioned that. So, you're saying you had the same issue with the fuel volume regulator? What was the eventual diagnosis and fix?

Yep, fuel regulator was the culprit. I tried a few things myself, but eventually, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. They confirmed the high-pressure pump was causing the regulator to fail. Not a cheap fix, unfortunately.
