Albea Fuel Regulator Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Fiat Albea is experiencing issues with the check engine light, stalling at idle, and reduced engine power. Diagnostics suggest a defective fuel volume regulator, with suspicions that the high-pressure pump might be the root cause. A similar case confirmed that the high-pressure pump was indeed causing the regulator to fail, leading to necessary repairs.

Fuel economy has definitely taken a hit, yes! I should have mentioned that. So, you're saying you had the same issue with the fuel volume regulator? What was the eventual diagnosis and fix?

Yep, fuel regulator was the culprit. I tried a few things myself, but eventually, I had to bite the bullet and take it to a workshop. They confirmed the high-pressure pump was causing the regulator to fail. Not a cheap fix, unfortunately.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions. I was hoping it was something simpler, but it seems like the high-pressure pump is the likely cause. I appreciate the insight. The workshop quoted me 1510€ for the repair, which seems steep, but I guess I have no choice. Thanks again!

Sounds familiar. I had similar symptoms on my Albea. Check engine light, stalling... the works. Was your fuel economy also in the toilet?
