Allion inlet VANOS issue

My 2018 Toyota Allion with a gasoline engine is giving me some trouble. The check engine light is on, and I've noticed higher fuel consumption lately. The error code points to the inlet VANOS mechanics. Mileage is at 65503 km. Anyone else experienced this?

I had something similar happen with my Allion. Also, a check engine light and the fuel consumption went up. Did you notice any difference in the engine sound or feel any low power?

Engine sound seems normal, but now that you mention it, acceleration feels a bit sluggish. What was the issue in your case?

Sounds like the same problem. It turned out to be a faulty camshaft solenoid valve. If you want to be sure, you should get it checked out at a workshop.

Thanks for the help. Took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – faulty inlet camshaft solenoid valve. Repair cost 250€. Replaced it, and everything's back to normal now.
